Suffolk based manufacturer, Skinner’s Pet Foods were proud to support rescue centres throughout the UK with over £10,000 of dog food this Christmas.
Based in Suffolk, but donating across the country, Skinner’s Pet Foods drew out a handful of rescue centres at random to donate a pallet of Field & Trial Turkey & Rice, in order to make the mission of giving as many dogs a Christmas dinner as possible come true!
Today Skinner’s made the short journey across to Meadowgreen Rescue Centre, near Norwich, to donate a pallet of Field & Trial Turkey & Rice. Meadowgreen has been run by Cherie and her family since July 2004, last year re-homing over 100 dogs, with the capacity of holding up to 42 dogs at one time.
One of the owners of Meadowgreen, Cherie Williams, said:
“We are always at capacity at the rescue centre with unwanted and stray dogs this time of year, we are a self-funded organisation, so we thank Skinner’s for their generous donation of Field & Trial Turkey & Rice which will ensure the dogs have a balanced and nutritious diet, which will see them through the festive period and beyond”.
Skinner’s Pet Foods Sales & Marketing Director, William Delamore said:
“Christmas is a special time to many people, and this should be no different for dogs in rescue centres. We wanted to help make a difference for these dogs by providing them with a Turkey & Rice dinner from our very own Field & Trial Range.”
“We realise that it’s not just Christmas when rescue centres need donations of food, so that is why, from January 2019, we are giving our customers the chance to vote on our Facebook page monthly for a charity they would like us to donate to.”
Each pallet donated by Skinner’s would retail in excess of £1,500 making the total donated this Christmas over £10,000 and feeding almost 300 dogs.
