Gressingham Smithfield Limited, a new company within the Gressingham group best known for their Gressingham Duck, has acquired the business of JF Edwards (Smithfield) Ltd. Under the terms of the acquisition Gressingham has acquired the ongoing business of four shops on Smithfield market and a butchers shop in Primrose Hill.
Gressingham Foods has a long association with Smithfield market and this is a very natural fit to expand the group. We see this as an exciting opportunity to grow the food service side of the business.
Co-owner and joint managing director William Buchanan commented. “We see this as an excellent opportunity to grow the Gressingham business and provides the opportunity to diversify into new markets.”
Steve Barber has been appointed as Managing Director of JF Edwards and will be supported by John Reid currently Managing Director of Reid’s of Norwich.

From its British, Red Tractor assured farms based in beautiful East Anglia, Gressingham is the principal supplier of duck to the retail sector.
