SUFFOLK CELEBRATES LOTTERY WINNERS

Special birthday celebrations have been held in Suffolk, to commend the county’s voluntary sector organisations as part of National Lottery’s 25th anniversary.

Community Action Suffolk hosted a unique party, in conjunction with National Lottery Fund, attended by dozens of lottery award winning organisations.

Among those to take part in the occasion were Activ Lives, Good Neighbour Scheme, Fresh Start New Beginnings, Artlink, Suffolk Family Carers, Survivors in Transition and Rural Coffee Caravan.

Those attending were encouraged to think about examples of successful fundraising, and to share best practice between each other.

Lou Fairbrother, Financial Sustainability Officer of Community Action Suffolk, said “It was fantastic to have so many of our inspirational Suffolk award holders all together under one roof – and what better way than to celebrate the National Lottery’s 25th year.

“Those that attended felt that it had been invaluable and it had enabled sharing of best practice, as well as exchanging knowledge on challenges, such as how organisations are using social media to fundraise.

“We were so overwhelmed with requests to repeat an event like this that we may make it something more regular for the future.”

The event was also attended by Rachael Luckin the Regional Manager for the National Lottery Fund.
