Business leaders will showcase the East of England’s position as the UK’s leading producer of renewable and low carbon energy at Europe’s largest offshore industry event in October.
Local firms will join the East of England Energy Zone at Offshore Energy in Amsterdam on 8 and 9 October.
The event, which attracts over 12,000 visitors and 550 exhibitors, provides an opportunity for our region’s firms to network with major developers and key clients from across Europe and beyond.
Mark Goodall, Chairman of the UK’s first All Energy Industry Council and Senior Manager at Aker Solutions, said: “Offshore Energy provides local firms with a fantastic opportunity to showcase their products and expertise.
“Our region is at the heart of the world’s largest market for offshore wind energy and we have lots to shout about. With over £50m of investment planned in the coming decades, there are huge opportunities for growth in this sector and events like this are a great way for us to promote the East of England and everything we can offer.”
Cllr Graham Plant, Deputy Leader of Great Yarmouth Borough Council and cabinet member for growing the economy at Norfolk County Council, said: “Great Yarmouth boasts decades of experience in the energy sector, from oil and gas to offshore wind, and we are proud to be home to a number of the UK’s leading firms. Offshore Energy gives local companies a fantastic platform to showcase their products and expertise and I look forward to joining them.”
Cllr Craig Rivett, East Suffolk Council Deputy Leader and Cabinet member for Economic Development said: “East Suffolk Council and Suffolk County Council believe it is important that we are able to showcase the region and demonstrate our commitment to the Offshore Energy Sector and we are delighted to be given this platform.
“Lowestoft and Suffolk provide a wide range of opportunities which will be of great benefit to the industry and our local economy. With this in mind, we are keen to demonstrate how we can further support future development.”
The Energy Zone shared standholders heading to Amsterdam are:
· EnerMech – critical asset support from pre-commissioning through operations to late life and decommissioning,
· Stowen – inspection and construction including crane testing, welding, rope access, scaffold, coatings and corrosion
· Peel Ports – Great Yarmouth’s Outer Harbour is a growing supply base for windfarms including East Anglia ONE.
· Nesspoint – rebranded from Vissim Renewables – vessel and people tracking and management, maritime surveillance, and radio communications.
· 3sun Group – supplying and training technicians, inspection services and providing controls, instrumentation and testing.
· EEEGR – membership organisation helping companies grow their businesses through support, introductions, networking, events, and sector intelligence
· OrbisEnergy – Office space and support hub, helping companies develop wind, wave and tidal technologies in the Southern North Sea.
· Hethel International – a consultancy at the Hethel Innovation incubation hub, taking its services to an international market for the first time.
