Accountancy: Ensors
With over 130 years in practice, Ensors has established offices across Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, so Norfolk was the next logical step on the growth journey.
Situated in the heart of the legal quarter in Whitefriars Norwich, we have been welcomed with open arms by the city and its local business community.
In a short space of time we have built a fantastic team that covers our core service areas, including our first intake of apprentice students and the firm’s first dedicated employment tax specialist. With our fully formed corporate team we have been successful in working with a wide range of new local businesses and servicing existing relationships across the county.
The professional network
Having established a local network of professionals over a number of years, we have continued to build on these relationships since opening the Norwich office doors. We’ve welcomed over 150 attendees at two informal networking drinks parties, and provided the business community with an informative Budget Breakfast update at Norwich City Football Club in October.
As well as our own events, we have reciprocated the support we have received from the community by sponsoring and judging the Large Business of The Year at the EDP Business Awards, sponsoring a Business Leaders Lunch, and also supporting the Norfolk Director Magazine event last year. I look forward to further opportunities and getting stuck in to our already busy events calendar in the coming year.
Local support
Ensors understands that the business must give back in order to fully support the city and its people. With that in mind, a colleague and I were proud to complete the Norfolk Coastal Walk challenge in support of The Feed. In September, we entered Break’s Grand Norwich Duck Race, and while unsuccessful in securing a podium position, mascot Isaac Ensor certainly made a splash on socials.
We’ve also rallied the team for a day of volunteering at Break, providing gardening services to one of their residential homes, and helped to support other charitable events for great local organisations such as the Community Sports Foundation and Corton House Care Home.
The collaborative approach of the community in supporting charitable causes is one which we look forward to getting involved in further.
As a Norwich native, I’m also passionate about backing our local grassroots sports clubs. We are proud to have taken sponsorships at Sprowston Cricket Club and Wymondham Rugby Club, enjoying visits to various games and events, and enjoying the wonderful hospitality provided. Of course, we cannot mention sports without Norwich City Football Club, which has provided a number of opportunities for us to get involved in supporting the team while networking with our peers.
After a jam packed first year, we look forward to our second in Norwich and have no plans to slow down. To join the momentum of our team, view the exciting job opportunities on our website.
