Called The Greens, the new outdoor events venue is located just 1.6 miles from the A12 at junction 58 and close to the River Deben. The site provides a peaceful rural environment while remaining easily accessible for guests travelling from across Suffolk and further afield.
The Greens takes its name from the land’s heritage as the former Waldringfield Golf Club, which closed in 2019. The new venue retains the openness and natural beauty of the original greens while reimagining the space as a blank canvas for outdoor events.
Designed to be adaptable, the site allows organisers to create bespoke experiences, whether through tipis, marquees or temporary structures. Large open areas are complemented by tree-lined edges, offering both expansive views and more sheltered corners across the landscape.
The venue is suitable for a wide range of uses, including weddings, festivals, community gatherings, corporate hire and relaxed camping events. On-site facilities include parking for up to 100 guests and toilet provision, helping organisers deliver events with ease while maintaining a countryside atmosphere.
Hire is available throughout the year, with both peak and off-peak pricing options. Off-peak hire runs from October to the end of March, with mid-peak availability in April, May and September, and peak season during the summer months of June, July and August.
A spokesperson for The Greens at Waldringfield said:
“We wanted to bring this beautiful space back into use and give people the opportunity to create their own events in a relaxed countryside setting. It had previously operated as Waldringfield Golf Club, but was no longer viable to continue as a golf course, so part of the land was later sold and rewilded, while the upstairs of the clubhouse was converted into offices.
The remaining ten acres have largely stood unused while other projects took priority, and it felt a real shame to leave such a lovely setting empty. After researching demand for outdoor venues and seeing how popular flexible event spaces have become, we decided to open the land as a dry hire venue.
The long-term aim is to reinvest hire income into completing the clubhouse renovation for indoor event hire, but for now the space works perfectly as a blank canvas. It gives organisers the freedom to create their own events, whether that’s weddings, glamping experiences, festivals or charity gatherings, while still benefiting from practical facilities like proper toilets, parking and mains services already on site.”
Bookings are now open for 2026 and beyond.
