Charity Golf Event to Take Place at Suffolk Golf Course

Ufford Park Woodbridge is set to host a May Bank Holiday charity gold event to raise funds for the Suffolk Punch horse.
The event, founded by the complex owner and keen golfer Colin Aldous, is set to attract golfers from across the region to play two rounds at the 18 hole, par 71 course, nestled in the Suffolk countryside.

Colin said: “Since we opened the course in 1991 it has won several awards and played host to prestigious events such as the Sky televised PGA Euro Pro Tour.

“I am very proud of the course and am looking forward to being part of such a high-quality event, while raising funds for a fantastic local charity.”

The event is being held on Monday 25th May 2020 between 7am and 7pm and is open to golfers with a maximum handicap allowance of 9 strokes.

Players will enjoy a breakfast bap, tea and coffee and 18 holes of golf in the morning, followed by a BBQ buffet lunch and then a second round of 18 holes in the afternoon for £45 per person. The generous prize fund is being guaranteed by local sponsors; T.Humphrey Removals, James Foskett Farms, Hopkins Homes, Allglass (Anglia) Ltd, GAH, tru7group.

A presentation will take place in the evening of the event and trophies will be awarded to both the scratch and nett winners.

A donation from each player’s entry fee will be collected to support charities for the benefit of all owners and breeders of this rare and iconic Suffolk horse.

Ufford Park’s golf course is the perfect challenge for golfers of all abilities.

Spread over 120 acres of undulating parkland, it is playable all year round thanks to excellent natural drainage.

The club has membership categories designed to accommodate all players needs and commitments. 

Ufford Park is also home to Congo Rapids Adventure Golf and the only two tier driving range in Suffolk, which has been voted in the top 10 Driving Ranges in Britain by Today’s Golfer Magazine.
