Sharing Experience: Steve Leech, Granite Transformations

Even at the tender age of 17, I knew that I eventually wanted to run my own company, and, more importantly, I knew that I wanted to do it with honesty and integrity – building my business on great customer service and a high quality of work.

I am proud to say that since buying the Ipswich franchise of Granite Transformations in 2012, this ethos has been at the heart of everything we do and it has served us well – the business has enjoyed steady growth in terms of size, sites, areas covered, and staff.

It just goes to show that, with enough drive and tenacity, you can succeed while still holding on to your core values.

Maintaining standards

Times have changed since my early days in business, and I can no longer control every project from start to finish. However, throughout the years I have been determined to maintain the same goal of always providing a quality service at a reasonable price. This is why I run a tight ship of highly valued team members and employ people on the strict basis that everyone must adhere to the same standards of politeness, friendliness, and reliability – alongside delivering excellent workmanship, of course.

Making money is great, but making it in an honourable, genuine way gives our company growth a whole new dimension and feels so much more rewarding.

Continuing to grow

We are always looking for opportunities to make the Granite Transformations brand more visible and accessible across Suffolk and Essex, and we are delighted to have been offered the chance to increase our presence within Glasswells, Ipswich.

Now showcasing our kitchens across 600sqft of the store, our new display will be manned by a member of the Granite Transformations team. Having staff in place means our customer service will always be at the forefront – something close to my heart – and we hope new clients will enjoy the whole shopping experience.

We enjoy working alongside strong, well-respected brands such as Glasswells and appreciate the opportunity to align our brand with a company that shares the same, important values.

We are always only ever as good as our last job, and we need to be moving along an ongoing upward trajectory when it comes to quality and service. All my staff go the extra mile to make sure each customer is happy at each stage of a project – it’s the same ethos I have stuck by since the tender age of 17.
