Renewable Energy: Reggie Read, Greenscape Energy
With energy costs rising and sustainability moving up the agenda, more businesses are embracing commercial solar. But delivering systems that genuinely work for each client demands more than just technical know-how – it requires a culture of creative thinking.
Powering smarter solutions
Falling technology costs and improved efficiencies have made commercial solar more accessible than ever, but many organisations still face obstacles – financial constraints, logistical complexities or a lack of clarity around ROI.
At Greenscape Energy, we’ve built a business designed to overcome those barriers. Our team doesn’t just deliver solar – we’re constantly innovating and thinking outside the box to solve problems. Whether it’s internal challenges around data, logistics or communication, or external obstacles faced by our customers, we approach every situation with a solution-led mindset and tailor our approach to meet every demand.
Our team is empowered to challenge the status quo, whether that’s streamlining operations, finding new efficiencies or rethinking how we approach complex installations.
A clear example of this mindset is the software we use to run our operations. Like many growing businesses, we found that industry-standard platforms didn’t meet our needs, especially for accurate quoting, customer communication and back-end analytics.
We reviewed every tool available on the market and knew exactly what we needed: clarity for our customers, deep data insights for the business and a seamless user experience for our team – but nothing ticked all the boxes. Rather than settle for a system that only did half the job – or try to patch together multiple platforms – we made the decision to build our own from the ground up.
We brought in a developer who quickly became an embedded part of the team. Working side by side with our sales, technical and operations staff, we developed a fully bespoke platform that now runs every aspect of the business – from lead capture and quoting to scheduling, logistics and aftercare.
Having full control has allowed us to automate key processes, speed up turnaround times, reduce errors and offer clients a clearer, more professional experience from day one.
It’s not just a better tool, it’s a smarter, evolving way of working.
Flexible finance, real results
Innovation also extends to how we structure our projects. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to funding solar. For many businesses, capital is better directed elsewhere, which is why we offer fully funded Power Purchase Agreements. These allow us to install systems at no upfront cost, with clients purchasing the electricity generated at a fixed, lower rate than their current supply. It’s a simple, tax-efficient way to cut overheads and carbon impact.
For others, a CAPEX or hybrid finance model may be more suitable. The key is flexibility, and a willingness to tailor every project to the specific needs of the business, not just the site.
