Based in Essex, Neil has built a career of more than 25 years in facilities management, progressing from frontline operational roles into business leadership. Today, he leads Carbon Numbers, a specialist company focused on energy management, building performance and smart building solutions, working with organisations to improve efficiency, reduce energy waste and create better-performing environments.
His appointment is positive news for both the region’s facilities management sector and the wider Essex business community, highlighting the growing influence of local business leaders in shaping professional standards, collaboration and skills development across the East of England. Neil also became an IWFM Fellow in 2024, in recognition of his contribution to the profession.
In the role, Neil is expected to focus on strengthening the regional FM network through events, continuing professional development, mentoring and greater visibility for the profession. He has also spoken about the importance of encouraging more people into facilities management through stronger links with schools, colleges and universities.
Neil said: “I’m proud to be taking on this role at a time when facilities management is becoming more important than ever to how organisations operate, adapt and improve.
“There is a real opportunity across the East of England to build a stronger professional community, create more opportunities for people to connect and learn from one another, and raise greater awareness of the value facilities management brings to organisations and the wider economy.
