The move provides a massive boost to the town’s economy and will enable the firm to increase its headcount to over 1,000 employees, with hundreds of graduate job opportunities for young people who want tech careers without relocating to London.
Halo provides IT service management software to organisations worldwide, serving clients including Microsoft and Red Bull. Tech entrepreneur Paul Hamilton co-founded Halo 14 years ago and today the business is a global player, competing with Salesforce and ServiceNow.
In 2024, Halo became the UK’s 2nd most valuable software company (behind Sage) and the world’s first purebred unicorn – a privately held young company valued at over $1 billion, built and grown without any outside funding.
Since it rebranded in 2019, the company has launched a suite of innovative products which are used by over 125k teams in more than 75 countries
With a 300% growth rate over the past three years, Halo was recently named one of the fastest growing companies in the Financial Times’ FT 1000 list. Their mission is now to push on and become the market leader in digital workflow for sales and service.
Paul Hamilton commented: “After 17 brilliant years of Halo having our global headquarters in Stowmarket, we are announcing that the Willis Building in Ipswich will become our new global HQ. We are excited that Halo are now in a position to become the custodian of this special building and continue to support the town and the local economy as a whole; we are ready to bring ‘The Halo Way’ to Ipswich.”
Halo will still retain a presence in Stowmarket, including the office on Gipping Road with its slide, bar and pool table.
