The role will see Jonathan oversee and manage the housebuilding company’s strategic land portfolio and manage applications through the planning systems working with the various Councils, stakeholders and local communities.
He will lead the Hopkins Homes’ planning team promoting a co-ordinated approach to planning and development, in close partnership with the company’s land, technical and design teams.
Jonathan, who brings with him more than 15 years’ experience in the development industry, said: “Hopkins Homes has a very strong track record in promoting and delivering high quality homes with character and individual style throughout East Anglia, and I am very much looking forward to being part of the team.
“As has been well documented in the news, there continues to be a significant need for both market and affordable homes throughout England, including East Anglia.
“Our planning team will continue to engage positively with councils as they progress new local plans that will look to allocate new housing sites to help address the local housing requirements.
“We also believe that neighbourhood plans have a role to play in helping to meet housing requirements and we are keen to work with town and parish councils and neighbourhood plan groups where these plans are being prepared.”
Jonathan will also be responsible for providing advice on planning strategy through all stages of the development process and carrying out community engagement for each development to ensure that the view of residents and those connected to the site are fully considered.
In his previous role as an associate director for a national planning consultancy, Jonathan advised on residential, mixed-use and commercial planning applications for both the public and private sector throughout the South East and East of England.
Simon Bryan, Development Director for Hopkins Homes, said: “We are delighted to have Jonathan as part of the Hopkins Homes team. Jonathan has a wealth of experience across a wide range of often complex planning schemes and his knowledge will be integral to the company’s future growth and maintaining Hopkins Homes reputation for building exceptional new homes.”
