The Stoke by Nayland Resort was no exception, and we took the opportunity to begin an extensive £500,000 refurbishment programme.

Work on refreshing our hotel rooms and public spaces puts us in an ideal position now that the wheels of commerce are turning again.

Our hard work is already paying off

Wedding bookings are very strong because couples have put off their big day for two years. We saw this demand coming and invested in our wedding areas, including a Tipi site for outdoor weddings and events. This site is also ideal for corporate or family fun days or a summer party with outstanding views over the lakes and woodland.

Both golf and leisure markets are buoyant, but there is also a significant uptake in corporate bookings. It’s not just annual business lunches, dinners or conferences, either, we have seen demand for our eco-lodges from business customers. Companies see the benefit of taking teams away from the office environment and into the heart of the countryside. There is something about getting away from it all that focuses the mind!

While staying with us, corporate guests might like to try our Spa facilities, two fantastic 18-hole championship golf courses or our three award-winning restaurants. Celebrating 50 years

It seems appropriate that we have put so much work into refurbishing the resort over the past year (and we continue to do so) because it coincides with our 50^th anniversary.

In 1972, Bill and Devora Peake created Stoke by Nayland Golf Club. Our two courses – Gainsborough and Constable – have played host to significant golf tournaments and remain hugely popular with members and visitors alike.

Bill and Devora could never have envisaged what their golf club would become 50 years later. Everyone here thinks they would be incredibly proud, and we invite you to come and see why for yourself.
