The Business Barometer is a concise, easy-to-complete survey featuring just five questions. It aims to gather valuable insights on key areas such as employment, business challenges, the outlook for the coming year, priorities for businesses, and cybersecurity concerns. The results will provide a rich understanding of the sentiment among business leaders throughout the country.

Understanding business challenges

It is vital to gain a strong understanding of the challenges, concerns, and priorities facing our business clients. This allows us to provide the best possible business advice to our diverse and extensive client base.

We are therefore delighted to sponsor this new and important survey of business sentiment across the nation. We believe it will become a key component in supporting a healthy and vibrant business environment.

Tracking trends and comparing sectors

Paul Andrews, founder and CEO of Family Business United, emphasises the broader impact of the Barometer, stating: “We are delighted to be launching this new tool to track business sentiment over time. It will enable us to identify trends in business confidence and to understand more about the nature of discussions taking place in boardrooms around the country.”

Paul also highlights a key feature of the Barometer, which allows participants to indicate whether they are part of the family business sector: “By adding a simple question about whether or not respondents are from the family business sector, we will be able to see if there are any differences in the perspectives of family firms versus those of the broader business community. This will help to shed light on the unique challenges and opportunities facing family-owned businesses in the current economic climate.”

With the economy facing ongoing uncertainties – from post-pandemic recovery efforts, to inflation and evolving digital landscapes – gaining a clear view of how businesses are feeling is more important than ever. The data collected through the Business Barometer will provide a clearer picture of the challenges businesses face.

For Rickard Luckin, this initiative is more than just a survey – it’s a significant tool for fostering a robust and resilient business community. The insights gained from the Business Barometer will also contribute to the broader conversation about how businesses can navigate the complexities of today’s economic environment.

We invite business leaders across the country to participate in the Business Barometer, share their thoughts, and contribute to this vital discussion. By taking just a moment to complete the survey, participants will be playing a crucial role in shaping the future of the business landscape.
