On Thursday 18th June, Matthew Ramplin, Daniel Sheldrake and Harley Ramplin from Barnes Construction, alongside Rob Bishop from Abode Construction EA, will each play four full rounds of golf in one day, covering more than 20 miles on foot and taking hundreds of swings, to raise funds for My WiSH Charity, St Elizabeth Hospice, and Oracle Head and Neck Cancer UK.
Taking place at Stowmarket Golf Club, the challenge is designed to push the team to their limits, but it also comes with a light‑hearted twist. To increase both the fun and the fundraising total, the golfers have imposed financial penalties on themselves for inevitable on‑course mishaps, such as time spent in bunkers and lost golf balls. In addition, visits to water hazards will attract bigger fines and poor golf etiquette will be strictly punished!
As a result, not only will their bodies be under pressure, but their wallets will be too, all in support of charities that provide essential care and support to patients, families and healthcare staff across the community.
Corporate Sponsorship Opportunities
Local businesses are being encouraged to get involved through a range of corporate sponsorship opportunities, which include T‑shirt sponsorship across the four rounds and sponsorship of the 1st and 18th holes.
Daniel Sheldrake is in no doubt about what lies ahead saying: “We all know that the day will be tough, but we are confident that every donation, large or small, will help carry us through tiring fairways, aching limbs and mounting penalty charges.”
