Following a £6 million redevelopment, the luxury wellness destination officially reopened in May 2025, unveiling a completely reimagined spa, fitness and wellbeing experience. Since then, Riverhills has delivered an extraordinary year of growth and engagement. This includes 3,963 spa days booked, 8,226 treatments delivered, as well as winning Spa Team of the Year at the Professional Beauty awards, and continuing its growth in membership and guest experiences.
The journey from fire to full transformation has been marked by powerful community moments and standout milestones, which included:
- 1 x £6 million spa transformation completed
- Welcomed back 10 firefighters who helped bring the original 2023 blaze under control, inviting them to become the very first guests to experience the newly rebuilt spa and pool facilities
- 1 x community mural created – ‘Resurgam’ with 70 mural panels painted by members, staff and the local community
- Increased membership by 1,000 to capacity. There are currently over 100 people on the waiting list, ready to join as a space becomes available.
- £837 raised for local charities (RSPCA & Thomas Wolsey Ormiston Academy)
- A partnership with Suffolk New College, leading to 3 newly qualified beauty therapists securing their first roles at Riverhills
- 3,963 spa days booked across the first year
- 8,226 treatments delivered by the spa team
- 1x national award win – Spa Team of the Year (Professional Beauty Awards 2026)
- 1x sensory spa garden created with Ade Sellars as part of the redevelopment
- 1x SnowSky snow shower installed (and now regularly ‘tested’ by very happy guests)

The redevelopment has introduced a full suite of luxury wellness facilities, including a 16-metre swimming pool, vitality pool, SnowSky snow shower, aroma steam room, volcanic sauna, HaloSauna™, nine treatment rooms and a sensory spa garden, alongside upgraded fitness studios and dining spaces. Innovation continues to shape the spa’s future. Its “Book Time, Not Treatments” philosophy has redefined how guests experience wellness, while a new concept launching in May 2026; ‘How Do You Feel Today?’ Spa Treatments, which will take personalisation further by tailoring treatments to how guests feel on the day.
