The event brought together over 360 guests for a memorable evening of fundraising, hosted by Darren Eadie, with a three-course meal provided by Brasted’s, live entertainment from Leanne Mitchell (winner of The Voice UK 2012) and Agent Orange, as well as a charity auction featuring a wide range of prizes including pilot training, and luxury spa retreats, all generously donated by local businesses.
Simon Medler, Managing Director for Lovell, said: “Our second charity ball was an incredible evening and I am grateful to everyone who attended and contributed so generously. With their support, we successfully raised an impressive £32,000 for two wonderful charities that significantly impact our region”. He added: “A huge thank you to the Lovell team for their hard work in ensuring the night was a triumph, and to our amazing sponsors – Bateman Groundworks, Link Construction, CJB Scaffolding, Aspire Mortgages, Labour Desk, and Taylor Maxwell – for their generous contributions. We are also deeply appreciative of all the businesses that donated auction prizes and played a vital role in making the evening such a success.”
On Thursday 19th June 2025, Lovell presented cheques for £16,000 each to representatives from Big C Cancer Charity and Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity.
Karen Vincent, CEO of Big C said: “We are absolutely thrilled and deeply grateful to receive this generous donation from Lovell. A heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this incredible evening possible. The funds raised will make a real difference to those affected by cancer in Suffolk and Norfolk, whether that is someone with a cancer diagnosis or their loved ones. The charity is here to provide outstanding holistic care, aiming to improve lives through services at Big C’s warm and welcoming Cancer Support Centres. All Big C services are free of charge, including counselling, complementary treatments, group support, exercise and nutrition programmes and bereavement support. Big C also funds groundbreaking research into cancer, right here at the Norwich Research Park”.
Hugo Stevenson, Head of Fundraising and Communications for the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity, added: “We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the outstanding team at Lovell for hosting such a successful event. Our sincere appreciation also goes to the generous sponsors and attendees whose support has raised a remarkable sum for both the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity and Big C. This donation will directly contribute to enhancing the care and experience of our patients and their families at Priscilla Bacon Lodge. It will also play a key role in the development of a new Community Hub at the Lodge, which will include a Men’s Shed and offer a variety of groups and activities to support not only our patients and their families, but also members of the wider community.”
