Deborah and Kevin Steward, who are Royal Warrant Holders, own online shop Lil’ Miggins where they produce and sell homemade provisions including jams, chutneys and preserves as well as their signature brookies. They produce these handmade goods locally in Houghton St Giles, Norfolk.

Shortlisted amongst just 11 other food retailers from the region, the nomination comes less than a month after Mr. Steward received an M.V.O. in the Queen’s New Year’s honours list for his services to catering.

Mrs. Steward said: “We are so pleased to have been shortlisted in the East Anglia region, as an online shop.”

“Whilst 2020 was a difficult year for independent retailers, and many of those challenges follow us all into the new year, we are encouraged by having been recognised for our efforts throughout the year.”

The awards are in partnership with The Grocer and are highly respected in the industry for playing an important role in supporting and celebrating the UK’s independent, specialist retail market across nine regions.

Food and drink broadcaster Nigel Barden leads the expert judging panel, with the winners announced at the Farm Shop & Deli Show at the NEC Birmingham on Monday 5th July 2021.
