It all started when I began a carpentry and joinery apprenticeship at the age of 17. I enjoyed every aspect of the job, but soon became passionate about running my own business. In 2012, I bought Granite Transformations’ Ipswich franchise, and business kicked off very quickly. For the first few months, I handled accounts, sales calls, as well as the hands-on fabrication and installation of worktops, and I loved it!

Initially, we offered only a worktop service, but that soon progressed to door replacements, bathrooms, bedrooms, full kitchens, and a full design service, including made-to-measure doors and units.

Our trade customers include builders and property developers, who offer our services and products to their clients, giving them greater choices and upgrade options.

Commercial clients want us to create standout reception desks, bars, serving areas and kitchens, to name but a few. Private work ranges from design and installation of kitchens in stunning new-build properties, to kitchen transformations in beautiful period properties, to small flats – and even boat kitchens!

A personalised approach

One thing remains constant: there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Every project is equally important to its owner, so we give each one the bespoke treatment, regardless of size or nature, striving to exceed our customers’ expectations at all times.

Over the last 11 years, the business has enjoyed steady growth, in terms of size, sites, areas covered and staff. But throughout, I have been determined to maintain the same processes with the goal of always providing skilled, reliable staff alongside quality products at a reasonable price.

Satisfied customers will almost always tell others about us, which is why our ongoing success is largely a direct result of recommendations and repeat business.  

Times have changed since my early days in business. I can no longer control every project from start to finish due to company growth. This is why I run a tight ship of highly valued team members and employ strictly on the basis that everyone has to adhere to the same standards of politeness, friendliness, and reliability alongside delivering excellent workmanship.

All my staff go the extra mile to make sure each customer is happy at each stage of a project, the same ethos I have stuck by since the tender age of 17!
