Regional HR business continues to expand

Hot on the heels of toasting its anniversary with the help of Olympic athlete Sally Gunnell, MAD-HR has announced further expansion of its award-winning East of England team.

Last month, the Feefo Platinum rated business staged a 10th birthday celebration at which it raised more than £6,500 for the charity Inspire. Now, just a few weeks later, it has confirmed it is increasing the size of its client support and its learning and development delivery.

Joining this summer are Michelle Stott, as Head of Client Engagement, and Rachel Mattia, as Head of Learning and Development.

The growth follows another successful period of trading for the firm, with more client acquisitions and a number of events staged throughout the region.

Michelle Stott has an extensive background in working with commercial organisations of varying scale, from SME through to global operations. She has run and developed full-service marketing agencies and is a specialist in client retention strategy and leading on customer experience.

She says: “It’s impossible not to admire all that Carole and Charlotte have achieved at MAD-HR to date, and I’m really enjoying getting to learn more about where the business is at today, and what the next stage in the company’s journey is set to be.

“I feel really confident in my ability to call upon my substantial commercial and client-focused experience to bring further benefit and insight to our MAD-HR clients.”

Meanwhile, Rachel Mattia is an experienced specialist in learning and development, having spent the last 20 years working with a range of clients and sectors, providing an invaluable contribution to strategic planning, delivering 1-2-1 coaching and implementing corporate cultures focused on ongoing employee development.

She says: “MAD-HR has an incredible track record of understanding the needs of a business, becoming its trusted partner and expertly supporting them to evolve and grow in the direction of their goals.

“I’m really proud to be joining such a talented and friendly team and getting to know many more businesses who use our services to achieve their potential.”

Carole Burman, who founded the business back in 2014 after a successful in-house career in corporate HR, is delighted with the continued expansion of the team.

She said: “Michelle and Rachel are such great additions to our team, and I am really thrilled that they will become part of the next exciting phase of our business journey. “We have a lot in development at the moment, and some wonderfully diverse and entrepreneurial businesses who we are already serving around the region.

“With two more talented customer-focused experts on board, I know we’re in for a great second half of 2024.”MAD-HR has won a number of awards over recent years, including those specifically acknowledging the firm’s commitment to customer service. It won the Customer Excellence category award in the EADT awards in 2003, and then followed that success by winning the same accolade in the EDP awards for 2024.

The business now has a total staff number of more than 45, with offices in Norwich, Ipswich and Chelmsford.
