What was your first job?
I was a Management Trainee at Humberside Sea and Land (same group as Cory Brothers Shipping Agency Ltd at the time).
What frustrates you?
Not reaching the targets I set myself.
How do you spend your leisure time?
I enjoy playing tennis and spending time with my family.
What’s your favourite television programme?
I don’t have one in particular, but I enjoy series like 24, Designated Survivor, Bodyguard, or any documentary with David Attenborough.
What’s your favourite food?
Nothing can beat a good steak (rare, of course).
What food do you hate?
Overcooked cauliflower, broccoli and Brussels sprouts.
What is your biggest weakness?
I can sometimes be impatient or too self-critical.
Where are you happiest?
Surrounded by the people that matter to me.
What was the first record you bought?
The Joshua Tree by U2.
At school, what were you good at?
Maths, geography and lunch!
What one material thing could you not do without?
Probably the most common answer – my phone.
You’d go to a fancy-dress party as?
I’d follow my interests and background, so Bjorn Borg (did I mention that I love tennis?), or a French stereotype with a beret, striped T-shirt and a baguette! Otherwise, to please my wife, I’d dress up as Thor!
What poster did you have on your bedroom wall as a child?
I had loads! Full-size Michael Jordan, Andre Agassi, Guns N’ Roses and Nirvana.
How many attempts before you passed your driving test?
Two. I hear all the best drivers pass on their second attempt!
