Rebecca is married to Simon, and they have two children; Alexandra who is 19 and Oliver who is 17. They all enjoy family time together; skiing, playing tennis and sailing their yacht, which is moored at Suffolk Yacht Harbour, on the River Orwell in Suffolk.
Describe yourself in three words? According to my daughter, Alex, I am determined, fun and empathic. According to my work colleagues, I am energetic, tenacious and good-willed.
What was your first job? Secretary at Philips Scientific in Cambridge.
What frustrates you? Laziness and lying.
How do you spend your leisure time? Sailing, rowing and walking, either with friends, or on my own
What’s your favourite television programme? Too many to mention briefly as it’s who I am with, rather than the programme, as I rarely watch TV on my own. When I’m with my son, Ollie, it’s Game of Thrones and Peaky Blinders. When I’m with Alex, it’s Jane Eyre or any period film. With my husband, Simon, it’s Ozark and sailing videos on YouTube!
What’s your favourite food? A family Sunday roast and chocolate.
What food do you hate? Cockles, winkles and raw oysters.
What is your biggest weakness? Finding ‘me’ time.
Where are you happiest? At home or sailing with my family.
What was the first record you bought? Pink Floyd’s ‘Another brick in the Wall’; it rather resonated with me.
At school, what were you good at? Trampolining and Athletics.
What one material thing could you not do without? Our Yacht – Cloud Nine
What poster did you have on your bedroom wall as a child? Anything with a horse on it.
How many attempts before you passed your driving test? One! I was desperate to pass as I lived in a village, and it was the only way I could get out and about.
