Botanical Forrest candles and wax melts are made in small batches using 100% plant-based soy wax, and infused with premium fragrance and essential oils. All of the candles are wicked, poured, labelled and packaged entirely by hand.
The Suffolk-based company was launched by Clare Forrest, who wanted to create products that were inspired by nature and in particular, by rural Suffolk with its unique mix of heathland, woodland and heritage coastline.
“Botanical Forrest was born of my love of scented candles – the sense of wellbeing they create and the memories they invoke. After two decades of commuting to London, I felt a strong pull to work in Suffolk,” said Clare about the launch.
“This has been a difficult year for so many, and as we’re all spending so much time at home, I was looking for a way to contribute to people’s emotional wellbeing. So many of us associate burning candles with calm and relaxation,” she added.
All Botanical Forrest products are eco-conscious, with vegan-friendly candles and wax melts, and packaging that is recyclable. Products are made by hand in small batches using 100% soy wax (as an alternative to traditional petroleum-based paraffin candles) and with natural cotton wicks.
Candles and wax melts come in a range of scents. For people looking for Christmas gift ideas – or simply to add some festive cheer to their home – there are also two Christmas scents: orange, nutmeg and cinnamon scent, and pine and eucalyptus scent.
In addition to being eco-conscious, Clare said that another key factor in launching Botanical Forrest was a desire to collaborate with other local businesses.
“I am pleased to already be working with a number of independent businesses, from our website designer, to the artist who designed our logo, and our photography. A local potter produces our handmade wax burners and as we expand our product range, we will work with other local artisans.”
