In his new post, Kevin will be helping to guide and support Community Action Suffolk’s other nine trustees on key decisions about the organisation’s vital work in the VCSE sector within the county.
His appointment comes at a pivotal point for Community Action Suffolk, as it continues its extensive work in support of charities, social enterprises and community groups working across the region in challenging times for the voluntary sector.
This year, the organisation will be staging inaugural conferences, a new series of educational workshops for its members, and extending its list of commercial services.
Christine Abraham, CEO for Community Action Suffolk, said: “We are delighted to have appointed Kevin as our Chair of Trustees.
“Such a role is really important to an organisation of our scale and scope, and we are confident that Kevin is the perfect person to drive the board forward with its priorities in the year ahead.
“Kevin has significant experience in business, with knowledge across a breadth of sectors, and as a family man living in the county, he is passionate about seeing the local community thrive through the work of voluntary sector organisations.
A keen runner and swimmer, who also coaches as part of the Kesgrave Kruisers Club, Kevin said of his appointment: “I’m very excited to have the opportunity to work with such a great board of trustees, an excellent CEO in Christine Abraham and an amazing team of people who are truly passionate about the Voluntary, community and social enterprise space in Suffolk.
“We have some very exciting plans for the future and it will be terrific to build on strong existing relationships with the local government and other key local charities to support the sector as a whole and really make a difference for the people in Suffolk.”
