Langley School
Both are blooming with the ‘Langley Green’ not just in terms of the uniform pupils wear, but the School’s ethos and commitment to the environment and community.
Nestled within 100 acres of ancient woodland in Taverham, where the journey begins, you will find Bluebell Nursery at Langley School, the Pre-Prep and the Prep School. The site is home to Langley’s dedicated Outdoor Learning Centre, where pupils enjoy making use of the pizza oven, mud hut shelter and outdoor classroom. The Nursery welcomes little ones from six months old and the Prep School continues through to Year 8. The academic offering includes the Pre-Senior Baccalaureate, which combines rigorous academic standards, and opportunities to develop resilience, communication, collaboration, independence, leadership and creative thinking to prepare pupils for their all-important next steps.
Langley Senior School and Sixth Form campus is in an equally beautiful setting in Loddon, with 110 acres of parkland, woodland, a lake and private Chapel. It’s where you will find the Langley Football Academy, directed by ex-professional Norwich City footballer Grant Holt, which is a setup unrivalled in East Anglia. The campus is also home to a prestigious Combined Cadet Force, plus day and boarding options that include weekly, flexi and full boarding.
Nurturing the individual
The community is made up of local, regional and international boarders, with everyone being an important member of the Langley family. Langley Senior School caters for children from Year 6 to Upper Sixth, with destinations including Oxbridge and Russell Group Universities. This summer, A-Level results saw an impressive 94% of Langley’s Upper Sixth cohort achieving A* to C grades.
Pupils are supported at every stage of their school career with a wellbeing provision that is national award-winning, as both Langley Prep and Senior carry the Wellbeing Award for Schools (WAS), a highly-revered accolade. Pupils support one another, helped by initiatives such as the Mentorship programme that sees Year 8 paired up with Year 3 pupils at the Prep School. There are opportunities at the Senior School that encourage pupil voice to be heard, such as School Council and House meetings, as well as leadership opportunities like becoming a Prefect or Head of School.
At every step of the Langley journey there is opportunity so that, when they leave school, your child is ready for the world. The education is holistic and values based, focusing on excellence, aspiration and developing the individual. The vast array of academic and co-curricular opportunities lends itself to inspirational learning and, with the tools to live happy and productive lives, every young person can flourish and positively contribute at Langley.
