The latest Family Court Statistics (April–June 2025), published 25 September, show that while applications for domestic abuse injunctions have slightly fallen, overall demand remains high, adding to the pressure on already stretched courts.
Francesca Easter, Partner in Ellisons’ Family Law Team, who specialises in complex children cases and domestic abuse injunctions and is based in Bury St Edmunds, said: “These figures mask the very real challenges faced by survivors of domestic abuse in Suffolk. We see first-hand how difficult it can be for victims to access timely protection and support, especially with the strain on local courts. Delays can leave families exposed to ongoing risk and uncertainty.”
