Morgans Group expands marine portfolio with acquisition of Fox’s Yacht Sales

One of the East Coast’s most respected yacht dealerships and brokerages is entering an exciting new chapter following its acquisition by Morgans Group, a transaction advised by Ellisons Solicitors.

Based on the River Orwell in Ipswich, Fox’s Yacht Sales has officially joined Morgans Group, the parent company of Fox’s Marina & Boatyard and Fox’s Chandlery. The acquisition strengthens the group’s presence across the Essex and Suffolk coastline, bringing together a collection of established marine businesses with a shared commitment to customer service, technical expertise and long-term investment in the UK boating industry.

Operating from Fox’s Marina, one of the UK’s leading yacht service marinas, and a second base at Woolverstone Marina, Fox’s Yacht Sales will continue to offer its full range of services. These include new yacht and motorboat sales from Beneteau and Wellcraft, a comprehensive used boat brokerage operation, and authorised Beneteau parts supply through the manufacturer’s official spare parts network.

Leading the business day-to-day is newly appointed Sales Director Charles Vinten, formerly of Clarke & Carter. His appointment marks an ambitious step forward as Morgans Group looks to build on Fox’s Yacht Sales’ strong reputation and market presence.

Charles Vinten said: “I’m honoured and extremely excited to be taking over at Fox’s Yacht Sales. The business has a fantastic reputation and a long-standing history within the marine industry, both locally and further afield. I’m proud to have the opportunity to lead the company into its next chapter and build on those strong foundations with fresh energy, ambition and a continued focus on excellent customer service.

“The future is genuinely exciting. Our partnership with Fox’s Marina & Boatyard and the wider Morgans Group creates real opportunities for growth and collaboration, strengthening the platform from which we support our customers. The professionalism, expertise and passion that Fox’s Yacht Sales is known for will remain at the heart of everything we do.”

The acquisition was supported by Ellisons’ Corporate and Commercial team, led by Partner Petra Sharp and Associate Solicitor Adam Kanharn.

Petra Sharp said: “It has been a real privilege to support Morgans Group on this important acquisition. The transaction represents an exciting opportunity for the group to further strengthen its presence within the marine sector and build upon the strong reputation that Fox’s Yacht Sales has established over many years.

“It was a pleasure to work alongside the Morgans Group team to help bring the deal to completion, and we look forward to seeing the business continue to grow and develop under its new ownership.”

Graham Miller, CEO of Morgans Group, said the acquisition represents an important milestone for the business and aligns with its long-term growth strategy.

“Fox’s Yacht Sales has an outstanding reputation, a loyal customer base and deep industry expertise, making it a natural fit within the group,” he said. “As a fully integrated part of the Fox’s Marina, boatyard and chandlery business, customers now have access to everything they need under one roof, and that’s a proposition we’re genuinely excited about.

“Together, we can offer a more connected and comprehensive service experience, and representing Beneteau and Wellcraft as part of that is something we’re tremendously proud of. We have great confidence in Charles and his vision for the future of the business.

“We are also grateful to Petra, Adam and the wider Ellisons team for their support throughout the transaction. Their commercial advice and guidance helped ensure a smooth and successful completion.”

Fox’s Yacht Sales is now welcoming customers at both its Ipswich and Woolverstone locations. Whether purchasing a new Beneteau or Wellcraft, searching for a pre-owned boat or exploring brokerage opportunities, customers can expect the same trusted service backed by the strength and resources of the wider Morgans Group.

The business has also launched a new website, providing customers with an enhanced platform to browse listings, explore brands and connect with the sales team.
