Long standing East Anglian firm Ensors, part of Azets, is now firmly established in the city’s thriving professional services quarter at St James Place in Whitefriars.
The opening has led the firm to gain at least 25 large scale corporate clients, with accelerated team growth to support some of Norwich’s key businesses.
In 24 months, the office has grown from just two senior members to over 20 staff, populating the Corporate, Tax and Administration teams.
Ensors is one of East Anglia’s oldest and most respected firms of accountants, with more than 130 years’ experience of offering full-service accounting for East Anglia’s leading industries.
It was in 2024 that the firm opened a base in Norwich to facilitate existing clients in the city and greater Norfolk region. Associate Partner Jamie Waller joined Ensors to spearhead the Norwich office opening.
He said: “This was a really exciting opportunity to establish an Ensors base in my home county of Norfolk, and I was thrilled to come on board.
“In just two short years, our organic growth has been exceptional. We’ve built our Corporate Services offering to service some of the key sectors in the county, including leisure & tourism, food & drink, offshore and local authority trading companies.
“We are now expanding service lines and focusing on building the Business Services and Tax teams to provide a fully comprehensive service to all businesses.
“We owe a lot of our success to our collaboration with neighbouring professional services firms. Our city centre location is hugely convenient for face-to-face meetings and building upon the relationships we have with our peers.
According to Norfolk County Council, the county has more than 33,000 businesses and 365,000 employees, with tourism supporting more than 54,000 jobs and contributing about £2.8bn to the local economy.
Ensors’ Norwich office was built from the ground up with just city native Jamie and colleague Stephanie Cotton, Senior Manager, on day one, supported by the wider network of Ensors’ offices.
Ensors has demonstrated its commitment to the Norfolk business community with a long-term sponsorship of the ‘Large Business of the Year’ category in the EDP Business Awards, as well as hosting a series of both informative and networking events for business owners.
The firm also supports the community in which staff live and work through ongoing sponsorship of Sprowston Cricket Club, Wymondham Rugby Club and Norwich Theatre, with Ensors colleagues also participating in charitable events and volunteering for worthwhile causes.
Ensors in Norwich offers audit & accountancy services, tax compliance & efficiency, corporate finance and much more to businesses across Norfolk.
In September last year Ensors became part of the Azets group, with the existing six offices’ 300 staff becoming part of the national firm. Ensors local expertise is backed by international strength and progressive technology.
Ensors, part of Azets, continues to operate under its own name with a dedicated regional leadership team, led by David Scrivener as Regional Managing Director, East.
