On Wednesday 1st December, the ‘Brighter Business Networking’ afternoon of cake, coffee and conversation, will be staged at Paddy & Scott’s Ambition House, on Neptune Quay in Ipswich.
The event offers an official start to the festive month, and includes an enthusiastic first-person business talk from Andrew Thompson, founder of insurance company Andrew Thompson & Associates corporate insurance brokers established in 2010. Andrew will be speaking about his belief in the power of people getting together makes confidence to do business, his desire to promote Ormiston Families as their main company charity, how he and his team have overcome the challenges of the last 3 years and how they are looking to the future. Andrew will also reveal a handful of his learnings from others which have contributed to the success of his business.
Those attending will also hear from Ormiston’s own mental health team, as they deliver advice and recommendations around supporting your own mental health – and that of your family and friends – through the festive season and beyond.
Ormiston Families has been marking its 40th anniversary throughout the last year, staging numerous events and fundraising activities.
It will be continuing to announce further celebratory updates early into 2022.
Vicky Matthews, Philanthropy Manager at Ormiston Families, said: “Ormiston Families has had a terrific year of marking our 40 years of work in supporting families and young people across East Anglia, and we’re very much looking forward to this ‘in person’ activity to bring 2021 to a close and introduce ourselves to more people in the business community of Suffolk.
“We feel it’s particularly important to create an occasion where our audience of guests can hear from someone with positivity and influence, whilst also sharing genuinely helpful advice about maintaining good mental health.”
Andrew Thompson, who founded his Ipswich-based business in 2010 and has since made Ormiston Families the target for his firm’s corporate support, said: “Learning about the good work of Ormiston Families over recent years has been a huge eye-opener to me, and has made me eager to be supporting the organisation as our company’s chosen charity.
“Their work makes a difference to so many families and young people across East Anglia, providing them with the opportunity to have a brighter future, to feel supported, and to be understood in ways they might not have had previously.”
