An Ipswich structural engineering and design consultancy has announced another year of growth with a 15 percent increase in annual turnover for its year-end 2017.
Superstructures, which has its office in Clydesdale House in Queen Street in Ipswich, was set up by Managing Director, James Potter from his spare bedroom in 2011. Six months later, Mark Hayward joined the business as a Director and since then, the company has grown year-on-year and now employs a dozen professionals delivering structural designs for a range of projects and sectors throughout Suffolk and Essex.
James puts the success of the business down to their quality of service which strives to add value to a project, rather than just satisfying the ‘red tape’ requirements. “Our best work comes from the clients we work with who understand how we can add value to the project. Structural designs we delivered last year included Challs International at Hadleigh, Orwells Furniture in Ipswich and The Pines Primary School at Red Lodge.
“No matter what we are working on, we always ensure our design proposals provide a full package of structural information including calculations and full CAD construction drawings. We believe this approach provides surety to the client, lowering the risks and creating a more streamlined build process.”
Testament to this was being awarded a commendation in 2017 from The Institution of Structural Engineers East Anglian regional group for the structural design of a private dwelling in Suffolk.
However, as well as achieving financial growth last year, Superstructures extended its team, employing two new members of staff and the company also invested in the latest and most up to-date new structural engineering software system, Tekla.
James continued: “We believe every project, large or small requires the same uncompromising approach; to add as much value by means of the structural design as possible.”
